Spencer Shrader made the headlines by rescuing the Kansas City Chiefs from embarrassment against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, November 24 and he also caught praise from the wife of the organization’s owner too.
With the scores tied at 27-27, the team’s quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, made a huge play as he managed to rush for 23 yards to set up a field goal with the clock about to strike zero and force overtime.
That put all of the pressure on the 25-year-old, standing in for Harrison Butker, to make the conversion to extend their record to 10-1 for the season and to retain control of the AFC Conference ahead of the Buffalo Bills.
And the ex-Notre Dame’s effort was good, meaning the Chiefs secured that all important win by three points, as Shrader went on to praise God in the post-game press conference which caught the interest of Tavia Hunt.
“So proud of this young man for [remaining] calm under pressure,” Tavia wrote via Instagram. “And fiving God the Flory in his presser.”
Who is Tavia Hunt?
Tavia, a former Miss Missouri Teen USA and Miss Kansas USA, has been married to the man worth $15 billion since 1993.
The couple have two daughters together Gracie and Ava, and a son Knobel, and enjoy a close family bond as she encourages them to embrace their football legacy and their religion and connection to God.
“My wife Tavia is an amazing mother,” Clark said to the Chiefs in May 2013. “She loves our children and literally would do anything for them.
“She’s also a great teacher; she takes every opportunity to instruct them, whether it’s something in terms of our faith, in terms of school, or how they treat those around them; she’s just an amazing mom.”
She also works as the director of the Chiefs Women’s Organization, which aims to help the wives and girlfriends of the players get involved in the local Kansas City community through charity.
