Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce has shared his favorite tracks from girlfriend Taylor Swift‘s extensive music catalog, and one surprising pick stands out: Death By a Thousand Cuts.
During a bonus episode of his New Heights podcast on Wednesday, Kelce gushed about the 14-time Grammy winner’s song, which isn’t even a permanent part of her Eras Tour setlist.
Kelce revealed that his love for Death By a Thousand Cuts blossomed after watching Swift perform it during her 2019 NPR Tiny Desk Concert.
Despite mistakenly referring to NPR as “NRP” during the podcast, Kelce made it clear that the track has earned a special place in his heart.
“‘Death By a Thousand Cuts’ is one that I’ve learned to absolutely love,” the 35-year-old tight end admitted, sharing how he fell for the emotional track from Swift’s Lover album.
A catalog of hits
The conversation between Travis and his brother, Jason Kelce, arose after a fan asked which Swift song Travis would listen to forever if he could only pick one.
Instead of selecting a song rumored to be about their romance-such as tracks from Swift‘s latest album, The Tortured Poets Department-Kelce went with the pop smash Blank Space from her 2014 1989 album.
“‘Blank Space’ is a song that I’ll always listen to forever,” he said. “It’s just unbelievable, everything about it.”
While Kelce didn’t bring up Karma-the Eras Tour closer with updated lyrics referencing him-he did mention several songs that fans suspect nod to their romance.
Among them were So High School and The Alchemy, both rumored to delve into the couple’s love story. He also named Cowboy Like Me from Swift‘s Evermore album as a favorite.
Jason Kelce joined the fun, sharing that his go-to Swift track is I Can Do It With A Broken Heart.
