The Baltimore Ravens have suspended receiver Diontae Johnson for one game due to ‘conduct detrimental to the team’, the institution announced in a statement this Wednesday afternoon.
Johnson will serve this suspension during the game against the New York Giants on December 15, which will be played after this week’s break. He will be eligible to return for their game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on December 21.
The problem, the team said in a statement, arose after Johnson refused to enter their game against the Philadelphia Eagles last Sunday and things got weird just after that with the whole coaching staff.
What happen next
It was not pretty after that an the top chief of the team talked about the matter. “We have made the difficult decision to suspend Diontae Johnson for our upcoming game against the New York Giants for conduct detrimental to the team,” Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta said.
“Diontae’s suspension stems from refusing to enter our game against the Philadelphia Eagles. We will not be commenting further on this matter in the future,” he added and it was tense.
Johnson began the 2024 season with the Carolina Panthers before being traded for a sixth-round draft pick and has only one reception for six yards in his four games with the Ravens.
