Jaylen Brown’s throat-slashing gesture costs him $25,000

Making the gesture of slitting a rival’s throat is going to be costly for Jaylen Brown. Of course, $25,000, which is the fine he has been given, is not an amount that will matter much to the Celtics player, who in any case expected a response from the NBA.

Joe Dumars was in charge of announcing the sanction to the Boston player for what the NBA understands is “an inappropriate gesture“. And the fine that the NBA contemplates in these cases is $25,000 for the player.

It all happened at the end of the first quarter when Brown made an impressive dunk against Pistons player Isaiah Stewart. As he fell to the ground after his execution, Brown stared at his opponent for a second before running his thumb across his throat, making the throat-slitting gesture.

At the end of the game, when asked about the incident, the Celtics player challenged the league by saying that he expected a response from the NBA for his action. The Celtics player has already had several clashes with the league on several occasions, such as when he was not included in any ideal team last season or when, after being Finals MVP, he was not called up by the United States team for the Paris Olympics.
