Stephen Curry has been winning on the court for many years and is rightly regarded as one of the greatest in NBA, but the Golden State Warriors star has also achieved a lot off of the court.

He is husband to Ayesha Curry and the pair have already got four children together. That means that they had to think up four different names for the children in question, and Curry has revealed that that was actually a lot tougher than people may expect.

There is a pattern to how the Currys have named their children, with two having names that start with ‘R’, and the other two starting with ‘C’.

A tough decision

Speaking on the Warriors Sound podcast, Curry said: “So when we first got pregnant and I just for our first child, we thought it was a boy at first. So Canon was always a name that we just liked. But then I found out it was a girl. Riley was our our name of choice, wanted to keep the consistency with ours and that’s where Ryan came from. And then when we found out, we were having a boy. It was an automatic Canon.”

He then talked about how hard it can actually be to name your children and how the latest had to wait a few days into their life before their name was finalised.

“Like naming kids is hard and you get hard down, you know, you have nine months to figure it out, and even with Chai I think we were four or five days in, uh, before we actually got to, is that right? Yeah, for the four days,” he explained.
