The strained relationship between Trinity Rodman and her father, NBA legend Dennis Rodman, appears to have reached a breaking point following her emotional revelations on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast. Trinity‘s comments about her upbringing and her father’s response have sparked intense public scrutiny and further strained their already tenuous connection.
During her interview, Trinity, discussed her tumultuous childhood, describing Dennis Rodman as a largely absent father whose lifestyle created an unstable environment. She recounted how she and her brother, Dennis Rodman Jr., had to live in their family’s Ford Expedition at one point because their father’s partying was unsuitable.

Trinity also labeled her father as “an alcoholic” and shared that she had lost hope of rebuilding their relationship after he failed to reach out following his surprise appearance at one of her games in 2021.
“He’s not a dad, maybe by blood but nothing else,” she noted.
Dennis Rodman’s public apology
In response, Dennis Rodman posted a public apology on Instagram, accompanied by a montage of photos of him and Trinity over the years. In his lengthy caption, Rodman admitted to his shortcomings as a father but emphasized his ongoing efforts to connect with his children.
“I’m sorry I wasn’t the dad you wanted me to be, but either way, I still tried and I still try and never will stop,” Rodman wrote. He claimed that he has been prevented from seeing Trinity on certain occasions and reiterated his pride in her accomplishments.
Rodman also revealed that he had flown in to watch one of her games but was asked not to attend due to the company he was with, choosing instead to watch from his hotel balcony.
Trinity was quick to dismiss her father’s apology, calling it “a joke” in a post on her Instagram Story. She expressed frustration with what she perceives as performative behavior on his part and declared, “I’m done.”
“Nice repost,” she wrote, referencing Rodman‘s message. “The response alone. And the attention. Wiping my hands with it. I’m done. Thank you.”
