LeBron James continues to be a proud father by hyping up Bryce in the Hoophall Classic, as he fills in for his wife, Savannah, who is over 6,400 miles away on a trip to the Far East Asian nation of South Korea.
Bryce James represents Sierra Canyon School and has been posting impressive numbers, proving to be particularly effective from the three-point range as his proud Los Angeles Lakers dad watches on.
The 17-year-old is committed to the University of Arizona Wildcats when he graduates to college, and his footsteps into the NBA might not be long after as the young talent also forgoes his final year of high school eligibility.
In his most recent outing in the basketball competition, the youngster made sure to add a bit of flair to his game with his father trying to discreetly watch on from the sidelines and he impressed the four-time NBA champion, who took to social media to praise him.
“Keep going up Maximus!!!! Work always prevails! @_justbryce,” LeBron posted to Instagram of Bryce’s efforts, which included 16 points in 17 minutes against the Top 10 ranked Grayson High School. He also shot five three-pointers and added a slam dunk too.
His mother couldn’t be there to watch him due to her commitments in South Korea, as she goes travelling the Pacific country with her daughter, Zhuri. The pair have enjoyed trips to the mall, markets and have dipped into the local food culture too.
But the 38-year-old Savannah still made sure to acknowledge his efforts via Instagram, especially when he was named MVP, by posting a collage of photos of her son from the basketball matches with the caption, “Yyeeeeaaaaahhhhh!!!.”
Who do the Lakers play next?
LeBron can’t spend forever watching Bryce, the younger brother of Bronny, play forever though because he has his own NBA commitments with the Los Angeles Lakers in their quest for a first championship since 2020.
The 23-18 Lakers next take on the 31-13 Boston Celtics at the Crypto.com Arena on Thursday, January 23. Tip-off is from 22:00 ET/17:00 PT in LA.
