Chiefs could get massive boost as crucial Eagles defensive players are doubts ahead of Super Bowl LIX

We’re a little over a week away from the final game of the NFL season taking place. After months of competing, there are only two teams left in the NFL Playoffs. Representing the AFC will be the Kansas City Chiefs, who are far too used to the position they’re in. For the NFC, it will be the Philadelphia Eagles, arguably the most talented team in the league.

The Eagles will be looking to exact revenge on Patrick Mahomes and co. after the Chiefs defeated them in the Super Bowl two years ago. In that game, the Eagles defense simply couldn’t stop Mahomes and the Kansas City offense, but the Chifs also got help from a fumble returned for touchdown and big punt return. Still, the Eagles defense will have to play much better this time around to win. Thankfully, there is practically a full new set of players on this Eagles unit than back in 2023.

But in order to slow down Mahomes, the team needs a fierce pass-rush. They didn’t have that in 2023, as Mahomes didn’t get sacked once. They now have several ways to get to the quarterback, but one of those is now a doubt, while a different veteran is a question mark as well.

Zack Baun misses practice Friday, Brandon Graham continues recovery from major injury

Zack Baun, one of the most improved players in the entire NFL in 2024, missed practice on Friday with a groin injury. It’s possible he was just given a rest day, but he was officially listed as a non-participant with that injury designation.

Meanwhile, fellow pass-rusher Brandon Graham was a limited participant. Graham hasn’t been able to play all postseason, as he continues to recover from a torn triceps injury that has kept him out since November 24.

The Eagles appear optimistic that both Baun and Graham will play, but losing either one would shift the odds more in the Chiefs’ favor in the Super Bowl.
