NFL legend delivers final blow to Patrick Mahomes’ career: You knew Mahomes was dead, Brady never died

An NFL commentator brutally gave his take on the GOAT debate after Super Bowl LIX, saying you knew Patrick Mahomes was beaten in the Kansas City Chiefs‘ 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles but the same could never be said about Tom Brady.

Sacked six times on the night, the 29-year-old barely found the space as his offensive line was repeatedly pressured in New Orleans whilst all his potential targets were locked down and man-marked.

As a result, Jalen Hurts had the perfect platform to seize control of the game and there was little Mahomes could do to stop him as the Eagles eventually raced into a 34-0 lead before opting to play their back-up personnel.

Fans were shocked watching on because simply nobody expected the Chiefs quarterback or his team to be so toothless, and because of that, Jonathan Lemire now believes he is out of the GOAT conversation.

“There was a point you knew Mahomes was dead,” Lemire said over the airwaves. “Brady never died.

“I’m not here to bury Mahomes. He belongs in the top-five conversation. Even the top three. But you can’t put a lesser god up on the same mountaintop with Zeus.”

Sherman’s harsh words to Mahomes

Brady already beat Mahomes twice in the NFL Playoffs, including a similarly crushing display in Super Bowl LV when he and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers ran out 31-9 winners, to make sure of his legacy against his talented and younger peer.

And Richard Sherman feels that sentiment as he declares the Chiefs star now faces an uphill task to work himself back into the conversation despite having three rings before turning 30, after throwing two interceptions (one a pick-six) and being sacked six times.

“It’s gonna be VERY, VERY-and I can’t emphasize enough,” Sherman said on his podcast. “Very difficult for him to ever recover from this when you talk about the GOAT conversation.

“A guy with 3 Super Bowls under his belt, multiple Super Bowl MVPs. This is 2024, not 2019. These mistakes are catastrophic.”
