When Rihanna says she doesn’t come to play, imagine her.
The Bajan princess has completely thrown the sweetness industry on it’s head this 12 months with the record-breaking launch of her namesake brand, Fenty Beauty. Along with being a smashing success by all all accounts, including earned media value, the brand is raking up every kind of awards.
The newest? TIME’s annual list of the 25 best inventions of the 12 months. The magazine considered a whole bunch of inventions from around the globe to create the list.
It’s Rihanna’s commitment to diversity and inclusion that helped secure the award. “…makeup corporations often cater to women with light to medium skin tones, each in products and promoting, and sideline women of color,” TIME says.
“Not so with Rihanna’s line, Fenty Beauty, which launched in September with 40 shades of foundation and a various array of makeup models,” they explain. We’re so excited in regards to the boundaries the sweetness brand is breaking and the way it’s changing the conversation.
