Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons has been vocal recently, addressing the swirling rumors about his future with the team.

Parsons stands by Jerry Jones

Speaking candidly during a Super Bowl appearance, Parsons made his stance on Jones’ leadership crystal clear.

“Me and Jerry Jones … That’s my dog,”Parsons stated, urging Cowboys fans to reconsider their criticism of the team’s owner and general manager.

“We gotta stop that Jerry Jones hate… Listen, I’m telling y’all right now Cowboys Nation, Jerry Jones is much better as a GM than you guys think … I never met a man that takes better care of his players.”

Despite the loyalty Parsons has shown to Jones, his comments have not completely erased concerns about the direction of the franchise.

While Jones has earned praise for his player care, his track record as a general manager has been a frequent subject of debate.

From delayed contract extensions for key players like Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb to questions about the team’s reluctance to spend on high-profile free agents, Jones’ decisions have often raised eyebrows.

Micah Parsons wants to be a Cowboy

For Parsons, however, the focus is not on these transactions but on the connection he shares with the Cowboys’ iconic owner.

Parsons’ admiration for Jones was evident as he defended him against boos at a recent event, reinforcing the idea that despite the skepticism around Jones’ management style, he continues to stand by him.

Parsons is currently in the final year of his rookie deal, with contract extension talks a hot topic for both him and the Cowboys.

Despite the ongoing negotiations, Parsons remains optimistic.

“Oh, it’s good, you know? It was good,” he said regarding his conversations with Jones.

“We have great conversations all the time. There’s definitely a plan in place, but we’ll just see how everything plays out.”

With Parsons signaling his willingness to accept a contract that may not make him the highest-paid defensive player in the league, it’s clear he wants to make space for the team to improve through free agency.

However, if negotiations don’t progress as expected, Parsons may have to consider his options, including the possibility of a holdout.

As the NFL offseason takes off, the questions surrounding Parsons’ future remain unanswered.

For now, however, his loyalty to Jerry Jones appears to remain a cornerstone of his commitment to the Dallas Cowboys.
