Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic is one of the most dominant players in the NBA, with seven straight All-Star selections and five consecutive years being named a starter in that game.
The 30-years old Serbian is averaging career-highs in points (30.1), rebounds (12.2), assists (9.9), and steals (1.9), while shooting .563 from the field and a career-high .475 from three in 36.4 minutes per game.
Not a chance! Nikola Jokic gets mocked by a group of kids after failing to perform a dunk
The Joker has won the NBA Most Valuable Player Award for the 2020-21, 2021-22, and 2023-24 seasons, as well as one championship (2022-23). Some analysts and critics believe that he could go down in history as one of the greatest big men in the league.
Jokic fails miserably at dunking in front of kids
A video of Nikola Jokic having a talk with a group of children resurfaced online recently, and in the images we can see the NBA superstar having a good time with the children who aspire to be basketball players and making their dreams come true.
During a part of their encounter, the kids asked Jokic if he could dunk, to which the Serbian baller refused to do so. “I can’t dunk it, guys. Did you see me play? I never dunk.” said Nikola, as the group implores him to perform a slam for them.
The Joker finally gives up and tries to dunk but he fails miserably. The 6’10 center is known more for his artful passing and his ability to break down deffenses while taking ridiculous shots from mid-range or outside the arc, but we rarely see him showing a great display of athleticism.
Nikola’s impressive career numbers
Among NBA ranks per game, Nikola Jokic is second in assists, third in rebounds, third in points, third in 3FG%, and fourth in steals. If those averages hold, he would be the first player in NBA history to finish a season ranked in the top 10 in each category.
The three-time MVP passed legendary Boston Celtics Larry Bird this season as the fastest player in NBA history to reach 15,000 points, 7,500 rebounds and 5,000 assists in a career, doing so in 90 fewer games (Jokic -709 games, Bird – 799 games). Jokic has earned two Western Conference Player of the Week awards (11/11 & 1/6) and has posted six games scoring 40+ points, the most of his career.
The Serbia native was selected with the 41st overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. He has appeared in 712 career games (671 starts) over 10 seasons with Denver, averaging 21.4 points, 10.9 rebounds, 7.1 assists and 1.30 steals per game.
