Recently, a defensive midfielder of rare quality announced that he will not renew his contract with his team and the rumors about his next destination have not been long in coming.
Henrique Casemiro has confirmed that he will not renew his contract with Manchester United, so in the summer he will be free to sign with any team that is interested in his services.
Neymar pranked his kid into thinking that her mom was a witch, and she came running to him
Casemiro has shown that he has the necessary level to remain at the top of football, however, having passed the 2026 World Cup and considering that by then he will be 34 years old, it is likely that he will decide to move away from European football to a more comfortable league in the final stretch of his successful career.
Where will Casemiro play next season?
The Brazilian defensive midfielder will leave United after four seasons. The main options for Casemiro are MLS and Arab football, naturally, however from Brazil several teams, especially Sao Paulo, the team that saw him born as a footballer, could make the attempt to repatriate him.
In MLS, Inter Miami could find in Casemiro a player of hierarchy to maintain its competitive ambition and fill the gap left by the departure of Sergio Busquets. He is a proven player who, despite having several clashes with Messi because of his Real Madrid past, would fit perfectly with the Herons’ project.
However, convincing him will not be an easy task, as media outlets such as Daily Mail and The Telegraph have reported that Casemiro has suitors in Saudi Arabia, rivals with whom it is impossible to compete in economic terms.
Saudi Arabia, with clubs such as Al Ittihad or Al Nassr, where Cristiano Ronaldo plays, with whom he coincided at Real Madrid for several seasons, offer economically superior contracts. Brazil, on the other hand, would allow him to return to his roots in a league with growing financial power. However, MLS combines stability, international visibility, a less physically demanding schedule and, in the particular case of Inter Miami, a paradisiacal place to live that is usually decisive for Latin American players.
Casemiro as a replacement for Sergio Busquets
Casemiro offers a different but complementary profile. He is less of an organizer than Busquets, but with a greater contribution in terms of ball recovery, with important physical and defensive presence that would help to take control of the midfield together with Rodrigo De Paul.
Although LA Galaxy appears to be the club most interested in signing him, Inter Miami has an attraction that is difficult to match: a media and competitive project led by Messi
Casemiro’s immediate goal is to finish the season strongly in order to be part of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad with the Brazilian national team at the 2026 World Cup. After that, he will make a decision that will mark the last great chapter of his career.
