Aaron Rodgers, quarterback for the New York Jets, is known for his controversial opinions, particularly among liberals for his views on Covid-19 vaccines and other conspiracy theories.
However, he recently made waves on the conservative side by snubbing the leader of their movement, Republican presidential candidate and recently convicted, Donald Trump.
During UFC 302 in Newark, New Jersey, Aaron Rodgers was among the attendees. At some point, former President Trump started making his way through the crowd, greeting some of the attendees.
As Trump passed by Aaron Rodgers, the quarterback remained seated and did not greet the Republican candidate.
This action, or inaction, sparked much speculation and even anger on social media among the MAGA community and Trump supporters.
Speculation About Rodgers’ Actions
There is speculation that Rodgers may have ignored Trump due to his friendship with Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is also in the electoral race as an independent candidate.
At one point, Kennedy had considered including Rodgers as his vice-presidential running mate.
Ultimately, Rodgers mentioned that he declined the invitation because it would mean retiring from the NFL, something he was not willing to do, as he still has a year left on his contract with the Jets.
