Aaron Rodgers taunts Detroit Lions by recalling crushing win with Green Bay Packers

Aaron Rodgers might have swapped the Green Bay Packers for the New York Jets but it’s done little to warm his heart to Detroit as the NFL champion reminded Lions fans of when he got a big one over on them from his time in Wisconsin.

The 39-year-old was drafted by the Packers in 2005 and spent 18 seasons at Lambeau Field which saw him win nine NFC North titles, one NFC Conference Championship and one Super Bowl ring leaving him with lots of fond memories.

As it turns out, one of those memories was December 3, 2015, in a 27-23 victory over their divisional rivals, as Rodgers recalled the day to Pardon My Take.

The memory was made when Rodgers threw a 61-yard Hail Mary play to cross the line with zero seconds on the clock to break Lions‘ hearts, in what was dubbed The Miracle in Motown The Miracle in Motown.

Who do the New York Jets play in Week 1?

Rodgers is currently preparing for his “first” season with the Jets after he missed 2023 following a campaign-ending Achilles tendon injury in the first quarter of Game 1 after making debut first play at the MetLife.

The Jets went on to finish the season .412 with 10 losses and just 268 points scored but there is hope. Following a lot of work, Rodgers is ready to go and show the Jets and Robert Saleh why they were right to trade for him.

And it’s right into the storm for the franchise as they face the NFC Conference Champions and Super Bowl runners-up, the San Francisco 49ers, at the Levi’s Stadium on Monday, September 9, 2024.

The game is scheduled to take place at 20:15 ET/17:15 PT.
