According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Lakers have initiated preliminary talks with Hurley and are expected to intensify these discussions soon.
Hurley’s coaching prowess and enthusiasm for the game have garnered significant attention, including from LeBron James, who could soon be playing under his guidance.

The potential hiring of Hurley by the Lakers could play a significant role in influencing James‘ free agency decision. Hurley‘s successful tenure at UConn might be a compelling factor for James to consider staying with the Lakers.
