Anamaria Goltes stirs new controversy after hinting at Luka Doncic’s “guilt”

After weeks of court filings and emotional statements, the personal life of Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic has taken an unusual turn, not in the courtroom, but across social media.

On March 21, reports began circulating online that Doncic‘s ex-fiance, Anamaria Goltes, interacted with an Instagram comment accusing the NBA star of being “guilty” in their ongoing custody and child support battle.

The comment she liked alleged that Goltes, who gave birth to their second daughter in December, had endured the stresses of childbirth and early motherhood with little support, and went on to assign blame for the breakdown of their relationship squarely on Doncic.

While Goltes has not publicly commented on why she liked the post, the interaction has been seized upon by fans and critics alike as a sign of how high emotions are running in the dispute.

The like came amid an escalating legal standoff over custody and finances involving the former couple.

Earlier this month, Doncic confirmed to ESPN that he and Goltes had ended their engagement and are now in a custody battle over their daughters, Gabriela and Olivia.

In a statement, Doncic said: “I love my daughters more than anything, and I’ve been doing everything I can for them to be with me in the U.S. during the season, but that hasn’t been possible, so I recently made the tough decision to end my engagement.”

At the heart of the dispute are legal filings on both sides that underscore the complexity of their situation. Goltes reportedly filed a petition in a California court seeking child support and attorney’s fees.

Doncic‘s legal team quickly pushed back by asking a judge in Los Angeles to dismiss that petition, arguing that it should not be heard in California since Goltes and their daughters live in Slovenia and have done so since mid-2025.

How the offcourt battle has unfolded

The couple’s troubles reportedly date back to late 2025, when Doncic traveled to Slovenia around the time of the birth of their second daughter.

Sources familiar with the matter told ESPN that Doncic wanted at least one of the children to return with him to the United States as he rejoined the Lakers, but Goltes objected.

A disagreement at Kranj Maternity Hospital in early December prompted a police response, though no criminal conduct was found, and Doncic departed peacefully that day.

Since then, the star has been separated from his family for months, a situation he said has weighed heavily on him even as he continues to perform at an elite level on the court.

Goltes, a model and influencer, and Doncic, who first met as teenagers and got engaged in July 2023, have generally kept their private lives out of the spotlight until these legal developments thrust the matter into public view.
