Angel Reese is following in the footsteps of her mentor, Shaquille O’Neal, as the WNBA icon turns her basketball talent into a shrewd business sense by penning a deal with the $34 billion dollar Reeses chocolate brand.
The Chicago Sky ace announced the collaboration to create unique chocolates in August 2024, and now he’s moving on to continue that relationship by launching the Angel X Reese’s Puffs cereal range.
The 22-year-old’s product has finally hit supermarket shelves and fans are excited, including herself, as she filmed a video showing off one of the boxes that carries the face of the 6ft 3in forward.
“I’m so excited to partner with such an iconic brand,” Reese had previously said. “Not only does this fulfill my childhood dream of being on a cereal box, but there couldn’t be a better fit for me than Reese’s Puffs.”
She is a woman in demand too as the senior brand manager for the Hersheys-owned company announced they had eyed her marketing power for some time considering how their names closely resemble each other.
Reese follows Shaq
Reese now becomes the first-ever WNBA player to link up with Reese’s, but not the first athlete. Simone Biles and Michael Phelps both previously partnered with the product throughout their illustrious careers.
And she follows her mentor, O’Neal, by getting into cereal after the four-time NBA champion previously linked up with Kelloggs’ Frosted Flakes when they released a cinnamon line in honor of the ex-Los Angeles Laker.
The pair are also connected through the Reebok shoe range too. Shaq serves as the President of Reebok Basketball and made Reese his first client as she agreed a deal in October 2023 and has since gone on to create her own signature shoe.
“I’m extremely excited to let you guys know that we are officially coming out with a Reebok by Angel signature shoe,” Reese told fans via her Unapologetically Angel podcast. The shoe will hit the markets in 2026.
