Damian Lillard will be out indefinitely for the Milwaukee Bucks due to a blood clot in his right calf, the franchise has announced.
The point guard has received medication to stabilize the situation and will continue to be tested.

Just over a month ago, Victor Wembanyama, the San Antonio Spurs star, also had to step away from the court indefinitely due to a blood clot in his right shoulder.

“The health of Damian is our number one priority,” Bucks general manager Jon Horst said in a statement.
“The doctors have indicated that this is very unlikely to happen again. We are grateful that it was identified and treated quickly, which will help in recovery,” the statement added.

“It’s unfortunate that something out of my control has come up. Along with the Bucks medical staff, our priorities are to protect my health and safety,” Lillard told Chris Haynes.
“As much as I love basketball, I need to be there for my kids and my family. I’m grateful that the Bucks acted quickly on this. They have been supportive and proactive throughout this process. I’m looking forward to moving on from this and continuing my career,” he added.
The 34-year-old is averaging 24.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 7.1 assists per game this season.
A nine-time All-Star, Lillard was included in the official list of the 75 greatest players in NBA history in 2021.
The Bucks, with Giannis Antetokounmpo as their main man and Lillard as his luxury squire, are fifth in the East with a 40-31 record
