Anthony Davis is one of the most dominant big man in the NBA, with nine All-Star appearances and four time All-NBA First Team selection (2015, 2017, 2018, 2020).
Davis is a two-time recipient of the NBA Cares Community Assist Award. He is known for his charitable acts, which include gifting Christmas shopping sprees to more than 200 children from local nonprofits and gifting a mother of two from the Kingsley House the brand-new Kia awarded to him as the 2017 NBA All-Star MVP.
What a bummer! Anthony Davis injures his 2K player in a move where fantasy imitates life
There’s no doubt that the former Kentucky Wildcats national champion is one of the greatest players the league has ever seen, so it’s a shocker for many that he’s only been able to win one championship during his 12 seasons – in 2020 with the Los Angeles Lakers lead by LeBron James – .
Anthony Davis injures his 2K player
Perhaps the most difficult challenge for Anthony Davis‘ professional career has been the number of injuries he has sustained and how those limit his playing time which translates into frustration and eventually a big asterisk in his legacy.
Davis was drafted first overall by the New Orleans Pelicans in 2012, and he played most of his first six seasons in the league. However, he was often banged up in his early years — he needed surgery for a torn labrum in 2016 — but he still was a consistent presence in the lineup.
But his injury trouble started to pile up once he joined the Los Angeles Lakers. His games were cut back to 56 in 2018-2019, and 62 in the COVID-shortened season of 2019-2020, first with the Lakers. Davis also helped lead the team to a title in the “bubble” in Orlando that season.
So it’s fair to say that the injuries are a big part of AD’s life… on and off the court. That’s just what happened during his playing days with the Lakers, as a video of Davis playing 2K resurfaced online. During a part of the online match, Davis gets injured during a play and real life AD couldn’t helped but laugh at what happened on the screen.
Davis’ career numbers are impressive
Anthony Davis holds career averages of 24.2 points, 10.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.3 steals, 2.3 blocks and 34.5 minutes per game in 778 career games (771 starts) with the New Orleans Pelicans and Los Angeles Lakers.
The 13-year veteran is a 2024 All-NBA Second Team honoree, a three-time NBA All-Defensive TeamFirst Team selection and a two-time NBA All-Defensive Second Team honoree (2015, 2017).
Davis was a member of the Lakers’ 2020 NBA championship team that featured Mavericks Head Coach Jason Kidd as an assistant coach. The 2017 NBA All-Star Game MVP and member of the NBA 75th Anniversary Team has also won two gold medals as a member of the U.S. Olympic Team (2012, 2024).
