There is no secret that the NBA has been doing something wrong with the All-Star Game in the last few years and now you can actually that everyone has their opinion on it as former United Stated President Barack Obama talked about this.
“Y’all gotta have a little more pride in that All-Star Game,” Obama during an appearance on ‘The Young Man and The Three’ podcast. “It’s not as if you all don’t play pickup during the summers. You know how to play in a way that, ‘Alright, I’m not going to hurt anybody, I’m not going to take anybody out.’ But that All-Star Game, it’s broke, man.”
The podcast was formerly known as “The Old Man and The Three,” because of JJ Redick hosting it, but now is Tommy Alter and the Pacers’ Tyrese Haliburton on it.
President Obama was not done on his opinion of the mid-season game and the activities surrounding it. “It insults the game,” he continued. “This is your business. This is your product.”
Barack Obama was on fire
NBA commissioner Adam Silver has made certain modifications to the game itself to try and make it more attractive for the fans but it seems that is just not enough as it’s far from the product seen on every other game.
“You don’t want people thinking you’re all out there just half-assed … Take it more seriously. Y’all need to do something because I ain’t watching that thing no more,” Obama stated, not happy about the situation.
The tweaks made were not really catching on with the fans and they traditional East vs West encounter returned, but stills it seems like it needs something else to really make the people watch, including Barack Obama and if he is not happy, he is not the only one.
