Blake Shelton held nothing back when it came to sharing his opinion on one of the most popular couples in music and the NFL: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. During a candid interview on The Pat McAfee Show, Shelton drew comparisons between Swift and Kelce’s romance and his own highly publicized relationship with wife Gwen Stefani.
Shelton, a country music star with a personality as big as his hits, praised Kelce’s charisma and how well it complements Swift’s superstar presence. “He’s not the type to fade into the background,” Shelton said. “The guy just owns the room, no matter where he is.”
The God’s Country singer, who has only crossed paths with Kelce a couple of times, was quick to say he believes in the love story of the NFL star and the pop sensation. “Yes, man. When you’re that willing to go public, that says something,” Shelton remarked, hinting at his own experience navigating fame with Stefani.
Swift, who has been spotted at Chiefs games cheering on Kelce, and the tight end seem to be embracing their relationship in the spotlight. And with both being huge stars in their own right, Shelton thinks they’ve found a balance that works: “They’re not hiding, and they’re doing it their way.”
This budding romance has taken center stage in pop culture, and it seems Shelton, having experienced life in a power couple, sees the spark between them. But as much as he admires their boldness, the question remains: Can they handle the pressures that come with being in the public eye? Only time will tell.
