It took a while, but Bronny James finally has his first points as a professional basketball player and it was only fitting that they came in Cleveland, when the Los Angeles Lakers visited the Cavaliers on Wednesday night.
The Cavs were on their way to a convincing and dominating win over Los Angeles 134 to 110 at home, so J.J. Reddick decided to make some changes towards the end of the game and in came Bronny,
With the score 125-103 with just over two minutes left, the son of LeBron James took the ball and hit a fade away jumper that hit nothing but the net and the crowd went crazy to see Bronny’s first points.
Even more meaningful
Of course that the fact that Bronny got those points while playing in the same team where his dad plays has a special touch to it. LeBron James was on the bench for this moment and he was watching all the time.
But even more special is this bucket because he got it in the same arena where Bronny cheered for his dad for so many years and against the team which he won a championship with.
While Bronny will spend some time in the G-League, he has been a part of the Lakers’ first five games. He has only played in the first and fifth game with seven total minutes and just the two points, but it’s only a matter of time for many more buckers to drop.
