Cam Newton was a force of nature when he played college footbal for the Auburn Tigers, where he won the 2010 Heisman Trophy and the National Championship.
At the NFL, Newton won the Most Valuable Player award in 2015, making him the first black quarterback to win it. He also led the Carolina Panthers to the Super Bowl in 2016 but he felt short to the Denver Broncos led by veteran and NFL legend Peyton Manning.

After being released by the Panthers, Cam had a stint with the New England Patriots in 2020 where he couldn’t find the same success that he had in Carolina. He went back to the team that drafted him in 2011, but he just wasn’t himself anymore and played his last NFL game in 2021.

Cam Newton has enjoyed some kind of success off the field with his YouTube channel where he interviews former NFL players, celebrities and media personalities with his unique style and his unapologetic point of view that sometimes gets him in trouble.
He’s also part of the latest season of Fox’s reality show “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test”, a quasi-military training television series where contestants (celebrities) face harsh environments all around the world in a shortened training course that is designed to replicate a number of elements of the United States Special Forces selection course.
Newton is part of a celebrity cast that includes former Olympic track and field star Marion Jones, former NFL wide receiver Golden Tate, former soccer player Landon Donovan, actress Denise Richards and actor Stephen Baldwin.
Newton shocked his castmates by jumping onto a moving helicopter from a boat during the latest episode of the reality show. For the stunt we see the former NFL quarterback make the jump and latching onto one of the landing skids of the chopper, quickly lifting his right arm over for more leverage. As Cam makes the incredible jump, the contestants gasped and vowed by his atlheticism.
Is Cam Newton ever coming back to the NFL?
While some speculate about Newton’s potential as a backup in the league, the truth might lie in his particular preference for a return to the field. In an appearance on GMFB early 2024, Newton was asked by former Pro Bowl wide receiver Brandon Marshall about the three teams he would consider for a comeback. Surprisingly, Newton’s response narrowed it down to just one team – the Atlanta Falcons.
Explaining his choice, Newton emphasized the significance of family in his decision-making process. “It’s not even three. It’s just really one. Me having, you know, a family now. It’s always been about family, and I don’t see myself leaving Atlanta. So if it’s not Atlanta, I don’t wanna do it,” Newton stated.
As an Atlanta native and a father of five, with an upcoming sixth child with his girlfriend, Jasmine Brown, Newton’s commitment to his family and roots in Atlanta seems to take precedence over other potential opportunities. Despite the Falcons undergoing coaching changes and rumored interests in figures like former Patriots Head Coach Bill Belichick, Newton’s desire for a return to the NFL revolves around his connection to Atlanta.
