In reality, every offseason is crucial for every team in the NFL. There are several avenues to improving a roster, with the main ones being free agency and the NFL Draft. While some franchises know they won’t be competitive in an upcoming season, no one ever publicly admits it. The beauty of it is that every team starts the season 0-0, leaving plenty of room for hope.

The Kansas City Chiefs are different than other teams, though. All they know is success. Their dominance of the AFC since 2018 has been historic, but a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX has the potential to bring about wholesale changes on the roster. Travis Kelce‘s future is up in the air, and the Chiefs’ biggest weakness was exposed against the Eagles: their shaky offensive line.

We can expect the Chiefs to bring in veterans through free agency at various positions, but building through the draft has proven to be the best bet for long-term success. Teams always want to find diamonds in the rough in the draft, but sometimes there are glaring prospects who are screaming to be drafted.

Which direction will Chiefs go in NFL Draft?

NFL.com’s Bucky Brooks recently outlined 10 players who could see their stock rise during the pre-draft process. Three in particular stand out as potential options for the Chiefs due to the positions they play.

• Luther Burden III, wide receiver, Missouri
• Harold Fannin Jr., tight end, Bowling Green
• Jonah Savaiinaea, offensive lineman, Arizona

Burden is an electric pass-catcher who could be a perfect pairing with Xavier Worthy, who really came on strong towards the end of his rookie season. Fannin had a simply outstanding final season in college, posting 117 catches, 1,555 yards and 10 touchdowns. Kelce could groom him as his heir apparent, or Fannin could replace him right away.

Savaiinaea might be the most interesting, though. He has experience playing both at guard and tackle. That versatility always intrigues NFL coaches, and the Chiefs need all the offensive line help they can get.
