Chiefs fans explode over the absence of a player from the Pro Bowl who is not Patrick Mahomes

Fans of the Kansas City Chiefs are expressing significant frustration over the omission of cornerback Trent McDuffie from the 2025 Pro Bowl roster. Star players like tight end Travis Kelce and defensive tackle Chris Jones secured their spots, but McDuffie was controversially overlooked, causing widespread debate among the Chiefs’ supporters.

McDuffie earned First-Team All-Pro honors last season, and has been a pivotal part of the Chiefs‘ defense. This season, the 24-year-old has recorded 13 pass deflections and two interceptions, showcasing his exceptional coverage skills. Additionally, his 90.5 pass-rush grade ranks among the top seven of 219 cornerbacks in the league, demonstrating his versatility and impact on the field.

Fans have taken to social media platforms to voice their displeasure, with sentiments like “McDuffie got robbed, no way” echoing across various forums. Many believe that his consistent performances and statistical achievements warranted Pro Bowl recognition, and his exclusion is seen as a significant oversight by the selection committee.

In contrast, tight end Travis Kelce secured his 10th Pro Bowl honor, despite a season that some consider below his usual standards, particularly off the back of last campaign where he was a standout player.

After 16 games, Kelce has amassed 97 receptions for 823 yards and three touchdowns, numbers that, while impressive, are lower than his previous seasons. Similarly, Chris Jones earned his sixth consecutive Pro Bowl selection, with five sacks recorded this season, marking his lowest since his rookie year in 2016.

The Chiefs are sending a total of five players to the Pro Bowl, including offensive linemen Creed Humphrey, Trey Smith, and Joe Thuney, all of whom have been instrumental in stabilizing the team’s offensive line. However, McDuffie‘s exclusion remains a contentious point among fans and analysts alike.

As the Chiefs prepare for their upcoming playoff run, supporters hope that McDuffie will use this snub as motivation to continue his stellar play, further solidifying his reputation as one of the league’s premier cornerbacks.
