“There has been a bit of madness these last few days, to say the least. But honestly, I’m at home.

The 40-year-old veteran, who has been the subject of reports that he was cut because of problems he allegedly had with his teammates and coach Ty Lue, has spoken non-hostilely to People about the Clippers’ decision to let him go.

“There has been a bit of madness the last few days, to say the least. But honestly, I’m at home. My daughter had exams yesterday. My nephew played a basketball game. My son has a game on the 12th… I’ve never seen my son play a game in person. Not a high school or college game. So I’m excited to see him play.”

“I’m at peace with everything. Above all, I’m excited to be here and have the opportunity to play a small role in whatever happens in the future

Chris Paul, who has played for seven different franchises in his 21-year NBA career, put up disappointing numbers (2.9 points, 3.3 assists and 1.8 rebounds per game) in 16 appearances as a backup this season with the Clippers, with whom he signed for $3.6 million.

The Clippers and Paul, who announced his retirement after this season, are currently in a waiting situation, as he cannot be traded until December 15 at the earliest.

“I’m at peace with everything. Mostly, I’m excited to be here and have the opportunity to play a small part in whatever happens in the future,” he shared.
