Micah Parsons often speaks his mind without measuring the consequences. However, his recent statements about head coach Mike McCarthy have caused outrage among fans and analysts, starting with the legendary Rex Ryan, who does not intend to tolerate the Dallas Cowboys linebacker’s nonsense any longer.
This Sunday’s 34-6 loss against the Philadelphia Eagles was a painful blow for the Cowboys. But no one was more affected by it than Parsons, who unleashed his anger against his head coach by saying, “Mike [McCarthy] can leave and go wherever he wants.”
“Guys I kind of feel bad for [are] guys like Zack Martin and guys who might be on their last year or on their way out. Because that’s who I wanted to hold the trophy for,” the All-Pro said.
Parsons finished by saying, “You want to win games and do great things with those type of legends who put in more time and work than Mike McCarthy ever did. Those are the kind of guys that I have so much sympathy and hurt for.”
Ryan’s furious reaction
Many have said that Parsons’ statements have been misinterpreted, but Rex Ryan is not one to tolerate bad attitudes. In a segment on ESPN’s “Get Up,” the former Buffalo Bills head coach ripped Parsons, reminding him of the time and effort a coach puts into his job.
“You’re giving up family time. You’re giving up all kinds of stuff in your life. And you’re gonna get some ass – I don’t care how talented he is, that’s absolutely BS,” an irate Ryan claimed.
The coach-turned-analyst didn’t hesitate to rebuke Parsons, saying, “If you would’ve worked half as frickin’ hard as a damn coach does, maybe you’d be able to play every damn game. Maybe your team wouldn’t just be a bunch of punks and lay down every week like you’re doing.”
What’s next for the Cowboys
After five consecutive years of making the postseason with a 12-5 record, the Cowboys are sitting at a 3-6 record that could leave them out of the playoffs.
With eight games left, Dallas still has time to get back on track. However, with all the problems cropping up on and off the field, the outlook looks more than bleak for America’s Team.
