The 2024 regular season could not be going much better for the Kansas City Chiefs. Coming into the year with hopes of a highly elusive three-peat, the team has started 7-0 and only seems to be getting better. But despite the perfect record, the team continues to deal with major injuries to important players.
Most of the injuries have come on offense, which has affected Patrick Mahomes‘ efficiency and the overall success of the offense. That led to them making a move last week, trading for veteran wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. Wideout was clearly the most important position of need on the roster, but could they actually turn to the other side of the ball for their next move?
Is Jaycee Horn an option for the Chiefs?
They already addressed the pass-rush by trading for Josh Uche. Some Chiefs experts believe cornerback would be the next position for general manager Brett Veach to attack, and Jaycee Horn of the Carolina Panthers has been floated around as a potential option.
The Panthers have already declared themselves as sellers, shipping off WR Diontae Johnson for practically nothing. Horn is a whole different situation, as he’s only 24 years old and has been fantastic when healthy throughout his young career.
But his name has already been brought up in trade rumors, and Carolina would likely get a decent return if they traded him. Adding a young corner with that much physical ability would really put the Chiefs over the top. They already have an elite defense.
