The new NFL season has started with the Thursday Night opener and the Friday Night Brazil game, now it’s time for Sunday’s slate. One of the most interesting games to start the year is the featured game on FOX that will have the Dallas Cowboys visiting the Cleveland Browns.
However, the main pregame preview story is the status of quarterback Dak Prescott and his intention of signing a new contract. Owner and general manager Jerry Jones has said that he is working towards that, but it is not yet done.
The main focus is on reaching an agreement before the start of the first game of the season, either over night or just before kickoff, but the talk as of late is that the front office is doing everything in their power to cover that gap that still exists.
They got one issue solved
The Dallas Cowboys have already taken care of one of their issues after signing CeeDee Lamb to a new deal. The wide receiver has signed a new four-year $136 million contract and that helped in more ways than one.
After that happened, CeeDee ended his holdout and he showed up for practice so that was a big thing for the team. It also provided the team with how their long-term salary cap flexibility would be.
This of course refers to the Dak Prescott situation and how they would manage it, but apparently even with no agreement, there is an opportunity that might come up soon so that Dak can sign and have job security for more years to come.
