Cristiano Ronaldo invests $7.5M and sparks immediate market growth

Cristiano Ronaldo continues to grow his fortune amassed during his football career, and this time he has made a multimillion-dollar investment of $7.5 million in Herbalife‘s health technology platform.

An investment with an immediate economic impact

The Portuguese star decided to put his money into his long-time sponsor, Herbalife. The nutritional supplements company announced this during an earnings conference call on Wednesday, which triggered an immediate effect on the company’s stock when the market opened.

The footballer, considered the highest-paid player in the world, acquired a 10% stake in HBL Pro2col Software LLC, a Herbalife subsidiary specialized in health and nutrition software.

This is a platform that works by collecting users’ health data and lifestyle analytics to generate personalized nutrition plans and wellness programs.

Cristiano Ronaldo described it as a “natural evolution” according to a statement released by the company itself, affirming that working with Herbalife is “what motivates me at this stage of my career.”

This caused Herbalife shares to rise more than 15% on Thursday morning, proving once again that Cristiano Ronaldo’s economic impact and global influence continue to generate massive media attention.

The Portuguese footballer topped Forbes’ 2025 highest-paid athletes list, with total earnings of $280 million, of which nearly $50 million in off-field earnings came from his businesses under the CR7 brand, which encompass hotels, gyms, and watches.
