Pedro Vieira is the hairdresser of the Portuguese national team. His story starts far from the scissors, but by the vagaries of life, he has been entrusted with the hair of the stars of Portuguese football. He does not play football, he does not train, but he has a more than important job: to make the players feel good about their image.
Dalot’s message
“Dalot told me, Cristiano is going to get a haircut with you, he is the last on the list. I started to get nervous and while I’m cutting Dalot’s hair he says: ‘Cristiano is already coming’ and I’m like, my God, he’s going to come and I start to hear his voice. I start to hear him singing, because he was coming from the gym and I think, he’s really coming, I’m going to meet him,” Pedro explains.

A dream, that of cutting the hair of the “best player in history”, that had to wait. The first time Ronaldo canceled at the last moment, but his opportunity came. “I will never forget it. He started talking to me and says, ‘Sir, can I be here? And I say, of course, it’s your house, not my house. And he starts talking to me, really right, like, sir, I can sit here, sir, I can see your haircut,” said Vieira.

Cutting his idol’s hair was a step up in his career, especially considering the ‘stopwatch’. “I did the haircut in about 25 minutes, because Cristiano doesn’t like to be in the chair that long. He says to me: ‘I only have 30 minutes, can you do it in 30 minutes?’. And I say, yes, I’ll do it,” Pedro recalls.
