Dak Prescott shares an image with Mike McCarthy that reveals the atmosphere in Cowboys camp

The Dallas Cowboys have started their minicamp with a certain level of uncertainty after the current situation of their star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and quarterback Dak Prescott.

‘America’s Team’ exercised the fifth-year option on Lamb’s rookie contract in April of last year and that means the Oklahoma graduate will play the 2024 NFL season under a salary of $17.99 million. This amount is far from what Justin Jefferson got.

Prescott is in a similar situation, He is in the final year of a four-year, $160 million contract he signed in 2021. He has a no-trade clause in his deal, and the team cannot use the franchise tag on him during the year.

With that said, and even with CeeDee being a no-show so far, it all seems to be fun and games at minicamp and there if proof to show that. The Cowboys shared a picture on Instagram where two of the main leaders of the organization seem to be enjoying their company and the preseason.

An image that speaks a thousand words

In the Instagram photo, both Dak Prescott and head coach Mike McCarthy are seen laughing together and it all points to both being happy with their current situations, despite the pressure they might feel.

While it is true that McCarthy has been under fire for not going deep into the playoffs, he has all the confidence from owner and general manager Jerry Jones. Criticism has been piling up for both of them and even with that in mind, they seem to work relaxed and focused on their main goal.

Of course it will not be easy to reach a Super Bowl, but the support is there even if there is a cloud of uncertainty in the future of the team.
