Deion Sanders sends a message of encouragement to ‘brother’ Randy Moss as he fights cancer

The sports world was stunned when NFL icon Randy Moss publicly revealed his battle with cancer.

At 47, the Hall of Fame wide receiver shared his diagnosis, and since then, support has poured in from fans, former teammates, and friends.

Among them is Colorado Buffaloes head coach and fellow Hall of Famer, Deion Sanders.

Their long-standing connection transcends the football field, and Sanders didn’t waste time offering his encouragement to Moss during this challenging time.

On Friday, Sanders, affectionately known as “Coach Prime,” tweeted, “Praying for you and your family my brother! Love ya man and I know you’re gonna win this battle as u always do. #CoachPrime.”

This heartfelt message highlighted the camaraderie between the two legends, who have faced off in some of the most iconic moments in NFL history.

Sanders and Moss have a deep-rooted bond that began during their playing days.

One memorable chapter came on Thanksgiving Day in 1998, when Moss delivered a jaw-dropping performance against Sanders’ Dallas Cowboys.

Moss recorded three touchdowns and 163 yards on just three catches, cementing his place in NFL lore. Their mutual respect grew over time, and even after their playing days, they’ve remained close.

Moss revealed his cancer diagnosis during an emotional Instagram Live session, wearing a “Team Moss-Let’s Moss Cancer” shirt.

He explained that doctors found a mass in his bile duct between his pancreas and liver, which required surgery.

Despite the gravity of the situation, Moss expressed optimism, assuring fans, “I’m a cancer survivor,” and promising to return to ESPN’s “NFL Countdown” once his health improves.

NFL Community Rallies Behind Moss

The revelation of Moss‘ battle explains his decision to step down from his role as an ESPN analyst earlier this month.

Though he initially hinted at health challenges during the Dec. 1 episode of “Sunday NFL Countdown,” the full extent wasn’t revealed until later.

On the show, Moss emotionally shared, “Me and my family, we are battling something internally,” while asking for prayers and support.

Sanders‘ message of support wasn’t the only one. Colleagues like Mike Greenberg joined the show’s tribute, with the crew wearing glasses in solidarity with Moss’ signature style.

Greenberg said, “If he’s wearing glasses, we’re all wearing glasses today,” showing the profound respect and love the team has for Moss.

With the unwavering support of his peers, fans, and Sanders‘ uplifting words, Moss is gearing up to face this fight with the same determination that made him an NFL legend.

The road ahead may be challenging, but with his fierce spirit and the strength of those around him, Moss is prepared to emerge victorious.
