The NFL regular season is now in the rearview mirror, as 14 teams prepare to make a run at the Super Bowl in the playoffs. The other 18 franchises have turned their full attention to the offseason, with many going so far as to fire their head coaches. Some have even canned their general manager, and that includes the Tennessee Titans.
The reason that’s important is because the Titans own the first overall pick, which always holds the key to how the rest of the NFL Draft will play out. With a new GM coming in, know one can really guess what the Titans will do with that first pick. One would assume a new GM would want to start fresh with a hand-picked quarterback, but this draft doesn’t have a clear-cut elite prospect at the position. Could Shedeur Sanders be that guy? And could he bring Deion Sanders along with him?

It seems far-fetched, but Coach Prime raised eyebrows by replying “WOW!” with an “eyes emoji” to the post of Titans GM Ran Carthon being fired. Now, insights from reporter Ari Meirov have people wondering if the Titans might make yet another move: firing head coach Brian Callahan and replacing him with Coach Prime.

That would pave the way for the Titans to fully rebuild with the Sanders duo, but it’s unlikely to happen. Callahan doesn’t seem to be going anywhere, even though Meirov revealed Deion would have been interested in that job if it came open.
A fun discussion I had with someone around the NFL before this thing went down. He basically told me, with the Titans having the No. 1 overall pick, maybe they should consider cleaning house – which they’re not, but if they were, I think Deion Sanders would have been interested in this job and taking [him] with Shedeur Sanders.
Meirov makes it clear that he doesn’t believe Callahan will get the boot, but if the new GM wants to completely start anew, it sounds like Sanders would want the job. The question is whether a GM would want to bring him in given his short track record, but the idea of a father-son duo at the NFL level would bring much-needed juice for the Titans franchise.
