Fisher Stevens admitted he was left annoyed with David Beckham after the ex-Real Madrid star appeared in his home whilst filming the Beckham documentary, as the 61-year-old aimed to shoot a scene with Victoria.
The 49-year-old sprung before the cameras to interrupt his Spice Girls wife in what was supposed to be a one-on-one moment, although it proved to be a hit with the fans and went viral online.

All the same, it left the creator of the Netflix production irritated as the soccer star and model told the 50-year-old Victoria she’s not working class, taking away some of the human element and connection to the average Joe.
“In that moment, I was quite upset with him for breaking into the scene when he wasn’t supposed to be home,” Stevens said to PEOPLE at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre. “He wasn’t supposed to be home.
“And he kind of hoodwinked me and eavesdropped because he was so insecure about what Victoria would say about him. But it all worked out in the end, thank God. It actually worked.”
What is Beckham about?
The documentary aimed to explore the story of the couple and the rise from lives of aspiring Brits to one of the most famous pairings in the world, as well as getting to know the family as they are now.
It particularly focuses on David’s soccer career, which began with Manchester United in 1992 and ended with PSG in 2013 after a five-year spell with the LA Galaxy. Beckham now owns Inter Miami, who Lionel Messi plays for.
“I started digging around and then I met with him and I said basically, ‘You were really good,'” Stevens told People in October 2023.
“He wasn’t what I expected at all. He was so open. He’s like, I’m ready. I want to tell my story before someone else does. And then I started doing research and I was like, ‘Jesus, this guy’s life is nuts. Nuts.’ “
