The coach accused the Lakers of treating Bronny James like a spoiled child, and LeBron James responded by trolling Doug Gottlieb for his team’s poor season (2-24): “He won two games and I have to give him credit”.

LeBron James’ “credit” is a double entendre, as it refers to the sanction Doug Gottlieb received from the NCAA for illegally using fellow students’ credit cards in 1996.

Doug Gottlieb: “LeBron James is a sad, petty troll”

Doug Gottlieb made it clear on CBS what he thinks of the Lakers star: “LeBron James is a troll”.

“LeBron James is just punching down. It’s sad and it’s mean. Here’s somebody who has got hundreds of millions of dollars living a lavish lifestyle in Los Angeles and tweeting about me on his day off,” he said.

LeBron James: “Why do you want to be the face of the NBA when everyone is being mocked?”

After the Los Angeles Lakers’ victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves, in which LeBron James scored 33 points, 17 rebounds and six assists to become the first player in NBA history to score at least 25 points in five consecutive games at least 40 years of age, the Lakers player was cryptic.

“Why do you want to be the face of the NBA when all the people who cover our sport, and talk about our game day to day, make fun of everyone? Obviously, I didn’t ask to be the face of the League. That responsibility is just weird,” he said in the locker room.

LeBron James pointed out that “I always took it seriously and understood from the beginning what it was all about to be a professional and be a role model. So try to keep this with the utmost respect and honor.”
