Donald Trump might have ended Taylor Swift‘s friendship with Brittany Mahomes for her after the Republican politician praised the Kansas City Chiefs‘ WAG for “defending” him on social media.
The wife of Patrick Mahomes found herself under scathing criticism after appearing to affiliate herself with the Make America Great Again campaigner, running for the White House in the 2024 United States Presidential Election.

“TRUMP-VANCE 2024,” was a comment the 29-year-old Mahomes, soon to be a mother of three, liked on Instagram before it exploded to go viral online.
The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model then hit back at the haters by suggesting they have, “some deep rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood,” something which the 78-year-old ex-President seems to appreciate.
“I want to thank beautiful Brittany Mahomes for so strongly defending me,” Trump posted to Truth Social, the social media website he formed after he was banned from Twitter before Elon Musk acquired the site.
How does Taylor Swift fit into this?
Swift has been close friends with Mahomes since she began appearing at the Arrowhead Stadium in the 2023/24 NFL season after fostering a relationship with Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs‘ tight end.
But Trump and his reputation presents a problem for their friendship. The 34-year-old Eras Tour is famously left-wing and famously an advocate for survivors of sexual abuse.
Trump‘s image conflicts with this greatly, with 26 different women accusing him of sexual misconduct, although he denies the allegations to this date, whilst he is also linked to Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced child trafficker.
As a result, Swift was not spotted with Mahomes at all, pre or post-game, when they watched the Chiefs defeat Lamar Jackson’s Baltimore Ravens 20-27 at the start of the 2024/25 NFL season,
The Cruel Summer singer has achieved her fame and billion-dollar net worth by creating a carefully managed image since she burst onto the scene in 2009 that has seen her remain out of any big scandals and generally controversy-free.
So the situation creates a question of whether they are still friends and Swift is simply giving the situation time to cool off, or whether she has broken up the Mahomes-Kelce-Swift quartet for the indefinite future.
