Luka Doncic was self-critical after the Christmas defeat to the Houston Rockets (96-119), admitting that the Los Angeles Lakers are going through a difficult time and that it is time to point out what is not working after three setbacks in recent weeks.
“Something has to change, we’re not right like this. We have to face reality and talk about it clearly,” the Slovenian acknowledged at the end of the game. A direct message, without beating around the bush, which pointed to a collective reflection within the locker room.

Doncic insisted that the responsibility is shared and that the team must demand more of itself: “We shouldn’t play this way. We have to be better.”
Visibly touched and with little desire to elaborate after the Christmas Day setback, the Los Angeles leader stressed the need to have an uncomfortable but essential conversation if they are to get back on track.
“The game has to be controlled. It’s not enough to have one or two players. To do it well we need all five,” he said.
