Luka Doncic is the NBA‘s leading scorer, averaging 35.2 points per game. If he finishes with that average, it would be the 10th best mark in NBA history. Only five players have had a better season in scoring terms: Wilt Chamberlain, Michael Jordan, James Harden, Rick Barry and Kobe Bryant. But the Slovenian point guard is not satisfied with his game. He sees aspects to improve. Seeing his level, it is frightening.
“I don’t think this is the best basketball of my career. I think I have to play better. Many nights I feel like I can play better. I don’t know if just because of the points I’m playing my best basketball. I feel like I can do a lot more things,” said the Lakers star, who adds 8.8 rebounds and 9.1 assists per game to his scoring.
Luka Doncic shuts down practice with a Christmas gift no one expected

Doncic is satisfied with his scoring, but believes he can take a step forward in everything else: “At the beginning of the season, I was playing excellent defense and I want to get back to that. Also limit my turnovers, be more efficient, get more rebounds, give more assists… I feel like I can do much better in all of that.”
Another huge performance
And as an example, the performance in the victory over the Jazz. It was the sixth game of the season in which Doncic reached 40 points. No one has achieved so many. He reached 45, four short of his season high, and added 11 rebounds, 14 assists and five steals.
With a much improved physique thanks to his work in the summer, the point guard is enjoying one of his best moments in the NBA, although he does not stop demanding more of himself. He is again in the running for MVP, although Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is well ahead. Doncic will be key to what the Lakers achieve, who are third in the Western Conference with a 19-7 record.
