The upcoming Avengers: Doomsday will be one of Marvel’s most star-studded ensembles ever, but it won’t just be an endless stream of cameos. Lewis Pullman, who played Bob/The Sentry in Thunderbolts* and has returned for Doomsday, teased that every character in the film will have their moment.

“It’s going back to the serum of the human archetypes that our art is built off of,” Pullman told Esquire. “Every character has their moment that builds the dimensions of them. The Russo brothers did that so well. They do not want anyone just sitting in the background. They really took to heart the responsibility of having some of the best actors in the world all together.“
He continued, “There’s a lot of really exciting pair-ups that happen. A lot of fans will be really excited. It’s so fun to dream about. What if A and B would work together? Would B and D work together? You get to see a lot of those fantasies come into fruition.” The actor went on to compare the film to ancient epics, but stopped himself from saying too much. “Talking about Marvel is always such a funny dance of saying nothing while still words are coming out of your mouth,” he said.

There are plenty of other actors who are presumed to return, so by the time all is said and done, this might just be one of Marvel’s biggest casts ever. The film is set to hit theaters on December 18.
