Eagles urged to chase Maxx Crosby as Raiders face uncertain future -Will Philly take a swing?

Maxx Crosby is, without a doubt, one of the NFL’s most feared pass rushers. While he remains a cornerstone of the Las Vegas Raiders’ defense under head coach Antonio Pierce, the team’s ongoing struggles could push him to seek new horizons-potentially landing him in Philadelphia.

Crosby is known for his consistency. Though not yet on the level of legends like T.J. Watt or Chris Jones, the Raiders’ edge rusher has built an impressive resume.

So far in the 2024 season, Crosby has tallied 5.5 sacks and 13 tackles. Over his six-year career, he has racked up 218 tackles and 57.5 sacks, making him one of the most coveted defenders in the league.

Meanwhile, the Eagles showcased their defensive prowess in last week’s 20-16 victory over the Cleveland Browns, recording five sacks against DeShaun Watson. While Philadelphia’s defense is already formidable, some analysts believe Crosby could elevate them into Super Bowl contention.

Could Crosby be headed to Philly?

Neither the Eagles nor the Raiders have indicated any active trade discussions involving Crosby. However, the defensive end hasn’t shied away from expressing frustration with the Raiders’ underwhelming 2-4 record.

“I’m not here to rebuild. I’m here to win,” Crosby said in a recent interview with Crunch Time Sports, hinting that he might not be aligned with the Raiders’ long-term plans. “I don’t know, whatever that means, but yeah, I’m here to win now.”

Crosby seems well aware of the Raiders’ rebuilding trend, adding, “Wherever I’m gonna be… I’m gonna be here to win. That’s all that matters to me.”

Will the Raiders fire sale continue?

The Raiders stunned the NFL on October 15 by trading star wide receiver Davante Adams to the New York Jets for a conditional third-round pick in the 2025 draft. With Adams gone and the team pivoting towards a rebuild, many are speculating that Crosby could be the next domino to fall.

If the Raiders decide to part ways with their star pass rusher, Nick Sirianni’s Eagles could be an ideal landing spot. Crosby’s relentless play style would fit seamlessly into Philadelphia’s defense, potentially making the Eagles the team to beat in their pursuit of another Super Bowl title.
