Erin Andrews opens up on retirement plans with Charissa Thompson after FOX contracts expire

What’s next for Fox Sports icons Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson after they departed the network following Super Bowl LIX? The answer is finally here as the pair open up on their plans moving forward.

Neither had their contracts renewed following February 9 meaning their final contributions to the network was working on the Philadelphia Eagles’ stunning 40-22 victory over Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Their very next venture isn’t quite determined yet but the have shared their vision for retirement and what they hope to do once they step away from the limelight of broadcasting sports television.

Erin and I also have an affinity for local news,” Thompson said on the Calm Down Podcast. “There’s going to be a time in our lives.

“I hope it’s a retirement community in Florida or somewhere where they can roll us out and we can work like a couple days a week, and The Morning News can or anytime like the Evening News can you imagine?”

It seems as though a casual pace away from the bustling and chaotic newsrooms of Fox is on the agenda for the well-respected broadcasters, working in the hearts of their local communities instead of global storylines.

However, there is one condition for the 46-year-old Andrews as she wants to avoid early morning shifts so she can enjoy pacing her life and extra moments with her family before starting the day.

Andrews doesn’t rule out Fox return

Now with her Fox Sports chapter behind her, many could look at Andrews making the switch to the likes of NBC, ESPN, NFL Network or other broadcasters willing to match what was a two million dollar salary.

But whilst she values the idea of a more relaxed life, she doesn’t actually count out making a shock return to Fox; whom she worked for from 2012-2025 and rose to become the lead sideline reporter with.

“I really hope I’m still employed by FOX when FOX gets a Vegas Super Bowl,” Andrews added. “This is epic, it’s Tuesday, it’s nutty, I wish the weather was better, but this is crazy.

“I just did a panel, and they were serving me like bloody Marys. The people were drinking at 9 a.m. when I was on the panel. It was nuts.”
