The boy’s family claims that Mario Edgardo Garcia-Aquino, who was arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), was the last person they saw their son alive with.

“My son did not deserve to be treated like an animal. He was my son,” the boy’s mother, Gladys Bautista, told KTLA.

On March 30, the family reported the teenager missing after he boarded a train bound for Lancaster to visit Garcia Aquino and was never heard from again.

Garcia-Aquino is also accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old boy in February 2024.
