Former NBA star questions Stephen Curry’s true motives for his participation in LeBron James’ podcast ‘Mind The Game’

Stephen Curry will join LeBron James on his podcast “Mind the Game,” a Unanimous Media production that he hosts alongside Steve Nash. This news has made the dream come true for thousands of NBA fans who not only enjoy watching them face off on the court, but also working together.

However, a former NBA star tried to answer the question of why “Chef,” a reserved person who stays away from podcasts, decided to be part of King James’ project.

Why is Curry participating in “Mind the Game”?

Unsurprisingly, the Los Angeles Lakers icon’s podcast focuses on basketball, but it seeks to share an analytical perspective with its listeners and fans. The tactics, plays, and philosophies of each team and player are featured.

For this reason, Curry’s addition aligns with the purpose of LeBron’s podcast as it guarantees a combination of experience, strategy, and legacy that is difficult to match. However, for a former Milwaukee Bucks player, the presence of the Golden State Warriors star could be commercial.

Michael Redd used his official X account (formerly Twitter) to reflect on this union: “This is amazing, for fans, and a big win for LJ/Uninterrupted, so it’s also curious. There is little that happens amongst icons without backroom business/agreements,” he began, mentioning the production companies of both NBA icons.

At the same time, Redd questioned whether Steph and James were working on a joint project or if it was simply a “favor” that “The Chef” was doing for LBJ because of their good relationship:

Is LJ going to return the favor and jump on an SC/Unanimous production? Are they going to co-produce something? Is there a bigger play in place? Or did Steph just decide to go ahead and do LJ, and by extension Uninterrupted, a solid?” wondered the former NBA player.

After all, SC’s appearance on a pod is potentially worth up to seven figures in revenue, between distribution deals (Amazon, in this case), secondary revenue (YouTube payout, etc.), and ad sales.”

Despite being great rivals on the court, both stars have not only revolutionized the NBA, but at the same time, they share a great friendship. In fact, before the regular season began, they enjoyed golf together and joked repeatedly about James’ skills.

The truth is that when these two legends come together, they achieve incredible things. Proof of this is the Paris Olympics, where they won the gold medal for the United States, just to name one example.

Now, all that remains is to wait for the release of the new episode of ‘Mind The Game’ and see if Redd’s words end up coming true.
