Dak Prescott is one of the biggest names in the NFL right now and the Dallas Cowboys star is someone who really does divide opinion.
As far as Minnesota Vikings legend Cris Carter is concerned, though, Prescott can not go down as one of the all-time greats as he simply isn’t good enough.
In quite a blunt assessment, Carter explained that Prescott is a good player but should not be viewed as one of the greats.
“Dak is a good player, and there’s nothing wrong with being a good player, but Dak Prescott is not a great player,” Carter declared on the ‘Fully Loaded Podcast’.
Prescott’s uncertain future
The suggestion is that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is in agreement with him, given the lack of commitment towards giving Prescott a new long-term deal.
Jones has taken a step back and is hesitating towards offering Prescott a new deal. With just weeks left before the preseason, talks have hit a standstill.
This has raised the possibility of Prescott becoming a free agent, which could attract interest from numerous teams in the NFL.
Prescott himself has acknowledged the uncertainty, stating: “I’m not going to say I fear being here or not. I don’t fear either situation, to be candid with you.”
He expressed his love for the game and his teammates, emphasizing that his focus is currently with the Dallas Cowboys.
However, he also left the door open for other possibilities after the season, saying: “And, after this season, we’ll see where we’re at and if the future holds that. And then, if not, we’ll go from there.”
