This has been a disturbing situation for the ones involved and for many soccer fans all over the globe. Former French international Wissam Ben Yedder will not be imprisoned pending a trial as sources have reported.
All this has come before an October 15 trial for sexual assault, not forgetting that he is also accused of rape in another case. He was arrested on September 7 in Cap d’Ail, and still it doesn’t look good for him.
The 34-year-old soccer player, who played for Sevilla from 2016 to 2019 and who has been without a team since his contract with Monaco ended in June of this year, has been looking for a job but no it seems hat he has other priorities.
How he got in trouble
Wissam Ben Yedder ended being accused when a woman in her twenties filed a complaint against the player for alleged sexual assault and after his arrest, he was summoned to the mentioned trial.
The accusation was for “sexual assault while clearly intoxicated, contempt and driving under the influence of alcohol.” This has been a big issue against him, according to sources.
Until this date, the complainant must undergo a psychological examination, and the player is under judicial control. However, he is free despite the fact that the prosecution had requested that he be imprisoned due to “the real risks of escape” and to avoid “any risk of pressure to the victim or witnesses” and an eventual recidivism.
