Anthony Edwards got himself in hot water when he claimed that Michael Jordan was the only player from the past who really had skill.
“They say it was harder back then than it is now, but I don’t think anybody had skill back then. Michael Jordan was the only one who really had skill,” noted Ant-Man.

Of course, the Wolves player was showered with criticism from all sides reminding him of players like Magic Johnson, Larry Bird or Kareem Abdul-Jabbar among many others.
In fact, Magic himself responded: “I never respond to a guy who never won a championship…. He didn’t win a college championship, I don’t even know if he won a championship in high school.”
But some of the harshest criticism has come from a more vocal legend than Magic. That’s Kevin Garnett, who never kept quiet on the court and never shuts up off the court either. KG recently spoke on the Ticket & The Truth show with Paul Pierce, and he used Edwards’ words to slam the entire current NBA. No exceptions.

“To be perfectly honest, I don’t think anybody in this generation would have been able to play 20 years ago,” Garnett stated, then explained: “I’m convinced, and this goes for Ant, for everybody in our league, for Tatum: Twenty years ago you wouldn’t have made a three-pointer by taking a step back. You hear what I’m saying? You wouldn’t have been able to. And if you threw that s*** up, it had to go in. You know why? Because we had efficiency and it was all very hard, very physical and…guess what? The league had to slow that down to get the scoring flow up.”
Garnett, a character himself when he was a player, and now that he’s retired, he is dedicated to talking about what the league was and what it is.
“The levels you had to reach to be not only strong enough, but skilled enough to beat that f****r in front of you, were enormous. You never had a six-foot Rodman defending you. Brother, I see you and I know you from the scouting report, I know all your moves. In the games back then, (Isiah Thomas and then Joe Dumars)… they were able to stop Jordan, brother. You could break your nose trying to dunk… You know what I mean? Dwyane Wade broke Kobe’s nose in an All-Star game… It was just different. It was a lot different back then,” said KG.
