Giannis Antetokounmpo’s NBA trade deadline options: 2K26 ‘ends’ the soap opera

A few days ago, the La Liga transfer market closed in Spain, which left us with many movements during the last hours. But very soon we will experience something similar, but on a larger scale. We are, of course, talking about the NBA trade deadline, which every year leaves us with bombshells that go around the world and completely change the best basketball league on the planet, as we saw last year with Luka Doncic

Well, the biggest sports market in the world will close tomorrow, Thursday, February 5, at 21:00 Spanish peninsular time. Just over 24 hours remain for some of the most anticipated moves of the year to be decided, although we have already had some surprises that have served as an ‘appetizer’ for a spectacular last few hours of the market such as the arrival of James Harden to Cleveland Cavaliers or Jaren Jackson Jr. to Utah Jazz.

But, as is the case in all other sports, there are certain stories that grab all the attention because of the media profile of their protagonists. And in this NBA market, some names such as Anthony Davis, LeBron James and Ja Morant are the ones that are starring in all the talk shows and headlines. But without a doubt, the protagonist, above all the others, isGiannis Antetokounmpo.

NBA 2K26 proposes trades for the Greek Freak

We are talking about an NBA MVP and champion, who is one of the top five players today and who has always been on the same team. These are some of the ingredients that make the Greek’s story the most interesting to follow. Giannis, made to compete for everything, sees how in Milwaukee they are now very far from that, therefore, he wants to change scenery to get closer, again, to the NBA championship.

Since it was revealed that Giannis Antetokounmpo was open to a move and the Milwaukee Bucks were willing to listen to offers, there have been many rumors and speculation about the Greek’s future, although there seem to be certain conditions, on the part of the player and the team, that have to be met. The Greek wants to join a franchise where he can win the championship, while the Bucks, in return, want young players with a lot of potential and draft picks to start a total rebuild after the departure of their star

Thus, there has been much speculation, but there are certain teams that seem better positioned and more willing to make an effort to get the Greek. Knicks, Cavaliers, Spurs, Warriors, Miami… are some of the teams that have been talked about as possible destinations for Antetokounmpo, but we went to NBA 2K26 to see what trade possibilities it offered us, creating a game as General Manager of the Milwaukee Bucksand looking for trades for our star and this was the result.

The impossible Antetokounmpo trades from NBA 2K26

When we put the Greek on the market, we received eight offers, which we divided into two groups, one of transfers that we considered impossible, a total of six, and one with transfers that could happen, although obviously they are still very complicated.

In the group of impossibles, we have included three types of transfers. The first is where the value of the players does not match at all, such as theWashington Wizards offering Trae Young for Giannis. The second is where teams that are far from competing offered to take in the Greek, something he would not accept, such as Utah Jazz, Memphis or Pelicans. And the third is where the teams offering the trade, in real life, would not part with certain players such as Indiana or Atlanta.

The possible ‘bombshells’ of 2K26 with Giannis

But there have been two of these offers suggested by the video game that we found interesting. The first is from Cleveland, a team that is being talked about a lot in relation to Giannis and in the market in general, as they have already made two moves, one of them the Harden one, which demonstrates their ‘all-in’ to compete this season, something that would appeal to Giannis. In addition, they offered two very good pieces, Allen and Mobley, the latter very good to start a rebuild.

The second offer we liked was from the San Antonio Spurs, a team that has been strongly linked to Giannis because of its current level of competition, because of the dream of joining the Greek with Wembanyama and because of the amount of young talent they could offer in return. That’s why we liked this offer that would send Giannis to the Spurs in exchange for Stephon Castle and De’Aaron Fox, a piece of the future and another of the present to lead a rebuild.
