Giants head coach Brian Daboll has lost a ton of weight and looks unrecognizable in training camp

Training camp is here in the NFL, which means the start of the preseason is right around the corner and teams are preparing to start the regular season soon. Of course the main focus is to practice and get ready with the repetition and knowledge of the plays inside the playbook, but every team is also ready to be physically ready for the football year.

Well, in New York that also applies for the head coach. The Giants leader Brian Daboll has gone through a program that made him forget about the extra weight he carried on his body.

Many say he looks unrecognizable and earlier this week people found out what was a big part of it. Giants general manager Joe Schoen revealed that coach Daboll began losing weight after getting addicted to doing Pilates. “What he fell in love with probably over the last three or four weeks is Pilates,” Schoen said to Kay Adams. “He’s doing Pilates. The first week and a half he was dying. He could barely move, but now after sticking with it for a couple weeks he’s addicted.”

Hard work must pay off on all levels

After reaching the NFC Divisional Round in 2022, and after extending quarterback Daniel Jones, expectations were high for the Giants last season, but it couldn’t have gotten worse for a team far from being competitive, especially for its offensive line and frequent changes at the quarterback position as a result of multiple injuries.

For the upcoming season they will want to show that they are not falling behind the Eagles and Cowboys in the East. Between neck injuries and a torn ACL, Jones only played six games with the Giants last year and, looked quite far from being the one who earned the contract extension.

“Big Blue” has a lot to prove in 2024 and they will have to gain trust in their offense of line so that their leader in controls has time to decide where he wants to go with the ball and to opens some space for a running back core that won’t have Saquon Barkley anymore.
